This is Higher! Higher! A studio for moving image and graphic design, based in Thessaloniki, Greece.
This is HIGHER! HIGHER! A studio for moving image and graphic design, founded by John Karabelas and Barbara Panagiotidis in 2017, as a framework for their long creative partnership.
HIGHER! HIGHER! aim to create compelling videos and designs with visual sensibility and fine execution.
HIGHER! HIGHER! are based in Thessaloniki.
JOHN KARABELAS ―
John Karabelas is a filmmaker focused on audiovisual projects, ranging from narrative fiction and documentary to abstract and experimental forms, using analog and digital media as well as mixed processing techniques.
He has been working as a freelancer since 2003, gaining experience
in all aspects of post production for films, documentaries and multimedia projects.
Since 2007 he has been directing and producing audiovisual content for museums, exhibitions, commercial projects and music videos.
He has worked as an instructor on digital editing as well as lecturer on editing and animation at the Film Faculty of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
BARBARA PANAGIOTIDIS ―
Barbara Panagiotidis is a graphic designer with a long experience in all aspects of visual communication and typographic design. From 2000 until 2011 she has worked for leading design agencies and has been involved as a freelancer in design collectives and partnerships.
During that time she has gained expertise across a wide range of graphic applications for medium to large industries, including branding and corporate id, publications, packaging, typography, environmental and experiential graphic design.
She has worked for diverse clients, local and international, from various fields of interest: from fashion, music and film to corporate firms, institutions and museums.
Her involvement and experimentation with traditional typographic techniques and screen printing in later years and her love for photography has sparked a deep interest in exploring the possibilities that can be found lying between analog and digital media.
WORKSHOPS & TALKS
Since 2002, she has participated in all International Conferences on Typography and Visual Communication (ICTVC) and was invited to have a presentation at the 4th ICTVC in 2010. In 2016, together with fellow designers from Original Replica, they were invited to run a 2-day workshop on screen printing as part of the 6th ICTVC.
